Wungening Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation which provides culturally secure, confidential and free of  charge services to Aboriginal people in the Perth metropolitan area.

The Wungening way

Understanding of historical factors – impacting on Aboriginal healing, health and wellbeing – is key to healing spirit, mind and body. Family is central to Aboriginal culture and connectedness to family is key to healing processes. Wungening encourages and supports connectedness as central to healing for all clients.

We are professional, qualified and trained

We treat others how we like to be treated

We think with compassion and sensitivity

We listen to each other

We act with integrity and the best intentions

We value ourselves and our community

Our vision

Our vision is a healthy, safe, strong and sustainable Aboriginal community.

Our purpose

Wungening Nalungh Kungyah
Healing Our Spirit
To provide culturally secure and holistic programs and strategies that inform, educate and address the harmful effects of alcohol, drugs, and other substances on individuals, families and communities and strengthen the mind and body, and heal the spirit.

Community footprint

Wungening now delivers its service at thirteen offices in the community. These include our new community hubs at Armadale, Mirrabooka, Midland, Rockingham, in addition to our East Perth Hub, and the Wooree Miya service.

We also deliver important support services at four visitor centres at prisons in the metro area, and four co-located sites with our partners.

This place-based method of service delivery enables us to be closer to the community and closer to people who wish to access our services.
