Boorloo Bidee Mia We are excited to introduce Boorloo Bidee Mia, which forms a unique part of a range of initiatives to support WA’s 10-year strategy on homelessness. Boorloo Bidee Mia is a collaboration between the State Government, the City of Perth, Wungening, Noongar Mia Mia, and the countless community members, staff and service providers who contribute to ongoing improvement of services and responses that suit the many different needs of the rough sleeping community. Boorloo Bidee Mia represents ‘Perth pathway to housing’ in Whadjuk Noongar language and the new service has been provided $6.7 million over three years to operate at 300 Wellington Street in Perth, implemented and delivered through Wungening and Noongar Mia Mia. Collectively, we are already supporting many of Perth’s rough sleepers, but we know this is an opportunity to provide a better service, much more informed by the rough sleeping community. Boorloo Bidee Mia will work with service providers and operate in tandem with other services such as the future State Government homelessness and support services. Collectively, these programs aim to improve the experiences of rough sleepers, provide safe haven and build the resilience of those most left behind. Over the coming months, we will be able to share more about this journey and give the community more information about the services that will be offered and the opportunities to partner with us to provide support. Until then, we are committed to building a sense of wellbeing, support, and creating a place with the sense of ‘home’. We are committed to building a more hopeful future.
