Wooree Ways of Working

All residents, including children, can access specialised in-house services to help address their needs around safety, advocacy, counselling, therapies, planning, future goals, training and skills enhancement. Our caring staff understand the impacts of violence and know that the main impact suffered is damage to their dignity.

Our staff work to ‘honour’ each person’s own experience by maintaining safe, trusting relationships with residents to ‘give back’ or ‘reinstate’ their dignity in order for residents to be able to manage their current situation and move forward on a positive path.

The staff at Wooree Miya deliver its services holistically, using a wholly integrated approach. This is designed to provide effective responses to client’s immediate needs and support them to lessen the impacts of violence and abuse (on them and their children).
