Reconciliation Week at Wungening
Reconciliation week is here, and there are many ways you can contribute to aiding reconciliation with Aboriginal Australians.
Running from May 27 to June 3, these dates include two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey: the 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
This week is a time for all Australians to learn about shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how to contribute to reconciliation.
As an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation dedicated to healing mob across Boorloo, Wungening is all in on taking action to make positive change to our community.
Wungening was proud to be represented by Daniel Morrison-Bird, Dr. Rishelle Hume AM GAICD, and Emmanuel Collard at this year’s National Reconciliation Week Breakfast. The event was a powerful and moving gathering, uniting thousands of Western Australians in truth‑telling, reflection, and shared commitment to a reconciled future.
Guided by Reconciliation Australia‘s 2026 theme “All In”, the morning reinforced that reconciliation is a collective journey—one strengthened by courage, connection, and meaningful action. Our representatives stood alongside Elders, community leaders, organisations, and allies dedicated to driving positive change across our state.
Wungening remains committed to strengthening community, honouring culture, and supporting healing for our people- reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.
