Congratulations to our CEO, Daniel Morrison-Bird on completing 16 Years at Wungening!

Congratulations to our CEO, Daniel Morrison-Bird on completing 16 Years at Wungening!

Daniel started his journey on the 22nd of February 2010, when Wungening was significantly smaller with a team of only 22 full time employees and a revenue of 1.6 million. Back then Wungening was called Aboriginal Alcohol and Drug services due to the main services offered. Our Royal street office was the main hub, alongside a Maylands Location and a Family and Domestic Violence refuge.

Fast forward to today, and Daniel has led Wungening into a transformed organisation with over $40 million in revenue and more than 370 full time employees with half (180) being Aboriginal and part of the community we serve across 20 sites throughout Perth. Our team remains committed to tackling critical issues including Alcohol and Drugs, Family and Domestic Violence, Youth Justice, Adult Justice, Family Support, Out of Home Care, Child Protection, and Homelessness.

For 16 years, Daniel’s passion and dedication have been significant into building the organisation we are today, and by extension provided essential support to our community, in times of need. As one of WA’s leading and respected Aboriginal community controlled organisations, we reflect our vision and purpose with truth and strength, as demonstrated by our leadership, board, employees and wider community.

Wungening started as a place developed by driven leaders of the Noongar community calling for change, and that work is still be continued and built on by our current leaders.

We thank Daniel, for his ongoing leadership, dedication and passion for change in our community.

Join us in congratulating Daniel for the last 16 years as our CEO.

Thank you Daniel!
