About the Service

The Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, Centrecare Incorporated and Uniting CareWest have established a metropolitan wide partnership in delivering Youth Justice Services aimed at providing the best possible outcomes for at risk young people and the West Australian community. This exciting new partnership offers a range of significant benefits including:

  • An integrated and coordinated network of quality Youth Justice Services based at either Wungening in East Perth (the North Hub) or at Centrecare in Gosnells (the South Hub).
  • A uniform approach to service delivery in the area of rehabilitation and emotional wellbeing for young people and their family’s referred to the service in the metropolitan area.

About the role

Youth Worker Package

As a Youth Worker you will play an integral role in providing high quality intake, assessment, and support services for young people and their family’s participating in the Youth Justice Service. This will involve outreach services to young people at their place of living, in the community or in custody.

Skills and experience

  • Experience working with the Aboriginal community and knowledge of Aboriginal culture, protocols and boundaries
  • Possess relevant qualifications related to position. Minimum Cert IV Youth Work or equivalent Community Services Qualification.
  • Solution focused approach to problem solving
  • Ability to be an effective member of a team or to work autonomously
  • Well-developed communication skills – written and verbal
