Wungening Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with Centrecare Incorporated, have established an integrated approach to delivering the Department of Communities – Child Protection and Family Support (CPFS) Building Safe and Strong Families: Earlier Intervention and Family Support Strategy (the EIFS Strategy).

About the role

Family Support Worker Package

To provide a culturally appropriate family support outreach service to assist families with children aged 0-17 in engaging them to build their capacity as parents and provide protection to their vulnerable and at risk children. The service will work holistically with families and priority access will be given to Aboriginal families. The service encompasses strength based approaches to enhance capacity of families, children and individuals to create a safe, protective environment, to develop skills to enhance their safety and life skills and improve their connectedness to the community and to available resources.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve positive community outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience providing intensive, in-home support to children, young people and families, especially Aboriginal families.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strength-based and culturally secure services to children, young people and families.
