About the Service

It is our belief that there is no safer place for our children than living with their family. This stems from the understanding that Aboriginal families and communities at their core are inherently safe. Sadly, colonisation diluted traditional culture to such a level that a lack of safety, stability, violence, drugs and alcohol have become the norm. This is problematic for our children and has led to an overrepresentation of Aboriginal children in Out of Home Care (OOHC).

If you are passionate about leading the solution to this issue and being a part of a team whose short term goal is to become the pinnacle of practice excellence and innovation in working with Aboriginal children and families then this is the role for you.

Wungening Moort is an intensive in-home support service for Aboriginal families who are involved with the child protection system. We provide holistic case management focussed on supporting families to heal and nurture moorditj djerripin koorlungas (strong happy children).

Wungening Moort comprises four Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) – Wungening Aboriginal Corporation (Wungening) – Lead Agency, Coolabaroo Community Services, Ebenezer Home Aboriginal Corporation and Moorditj Koort.
