Senior Project Officer Research package

Wungening has established partnerships with universities and research bodies and commenced a number of collaborative research projects. Wungening is no longer just responding to requests for support for research, rather we are actively involved in the design and implementation of the projects and implementing improvements, change, and action as we learn.

This position will coordinate these research projects and communicate research findings to program areas in order to connect insights to practice.

Skills and experience

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, e.g. social sciences, social research, Indigenous studies etc.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of First Australian cultures and societies from a historical perspective and the issues which impact upon them in contemporary society.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, use initiative and work effectively in a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated understanding of research tools, processes, and research methodologies and ability to conduct literature reviews.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to produce written and visual reports.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including the MS Office suite.
